Lauren Gunderson, half of the writing duo that penned The Pemberley series, took a unique opportunity to visit Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton, Hampshire. It is here that Jane Austen wrote, revised and published all of her major works. Gunderson shared her experience and story with all of her Instagram followers and we’ve scrapped them together for you to enjoy.

I actually started crying when I saw Jane’s writing desk at her home/ @janeaustenshouse Museum in Chawton today. It might have also been the gorgeous piano music being played in her drawing room. It might have been the incredible contribution to the world this unassuming, uncredited woman made with that desk, a quill, and an her unstoppable wit and imagination. Forever grateful to you, Ms. Austen. You have bewitched me body and soul. I just wish @margemel could have been here too. I almost bought her an “I Love Mr Darcy” tote bag but remembered that she already has one.

Today was also dreamy because I got to share it (and play dress up) with my best girl @kat_zdan. Kat: You are the Lizzy to my Jane. Me: No way. You are the Lizzy to MY Jane. Kat: This is why we are friends. Also that actual cat is named Marmite and he lives at the Jane Austen House he does not give a crap about Mr. Darcy. And the last picture is Jane’s actual muslin shawl. She wore that. It was on her body. I’m losing my mind.
