Lynn Nottage on Intimate Apparel, The Opera

Intimate Apparel had its world premiere at Center Stage in Baltimore 17 years ago and quickly became an American Classic. Now, playwright Lynn Nottage has written the libretto for an operatic version of the play that is premiering at Lincoln Center. It feels so timely that Nottage is examining the play again just as we at Northlight are producing it. Please enjoy this video, created for Lincoln Center, of Nottage discussing the process of adapting Intimate Apparel into an opera.
