Database Administrator (Part-Time)

Now Hiring: Northlight Theatre is now hiring a part-time Database Administrator. Reporting to the  Director of Advancement, the Database Administrator is responsible for supporting the data management function at Northlight. This position maintains records in Northlight’s fundraising and financial databases (currently Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and QuickBooks Online). Duties include entering gifts and pledges for the General Operating and Capital Campaigns, providing reports and reconciliation, creating and sending acknowledgment letters, entering accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assisting the Director of Accounting with bookkeeping. Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, CRM, and financial software required; Raiser’s Edge and QuickBooks preferred. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented,  organized, and technologically adept as well as able to plan ahead to ensure deadlines are met in a timely fashion. They will be self-motivated, able to prioritize and will communicate well with staff. 

Job Hours & Location: This position is expected to work 24 hours per week year-round, Tuesday through Friday during regular business hours as mutually agreed, onsite at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. Remote work may be scheduled occasionally on request with  Supervisor approval based on department needs. 

Compensation: Compensation range is $20 to $23 per hour, competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry, and commensurate with qualifications and experience of the applicant. Collaborative environment with flexible work hours and close involvement with the art and artists.

ARTISTIC

Artistic Fellow

Now hiring: The Artistic Fellowship is a professional development opportunity for an early-career theatre maker interested in working as an artistic leader in the theatre. Under the supervision of the Associate Artistic Director, the Fellow will work alongside the Artistic Director and the Artistic staff while providing support to Northlight’s artists on mainstage productions, the Interplay series, season planning, and any additional artistic programming. This experience will provide mentorship, training, and experience for a future leader at a midsize arts institution. The Artistic Fellow will expand the perspectives of the artistic team as an integral member for one full season (September – August) and will represent Northlight in the Chicago theatre community. As this is a professional development opportunity, schedule and attendance at specific rehearsals, performances, and other theatre events will be determined based on the mutual agreement of Northlight and the Artistic Fellow. Equity Principal Auditions

Equity Principal Auditions for Northlight Theatre are scheduled annually through Actors’ Equity Association. Specific scheduling and more information regarding our EPA auditions will be posted on the AEA website. Our upcoming EPA will service all shows for our 2023-24 season. We encourage you to select one of the provided monologues from the season’s shows or you may alternatively perform a monologue of your choosing that is no more than two minutes in length.

However, in an effort to support the local artistic community, we do accept unsolicited ten-page samples exclusively from writers living in Illinois. Before submitting material, we strongly encourage you to read our mission statement, research our production history, and/or see a production here in order to acquire a sense of Northlight’s interests and aesthetic.

To be considered, please send a letter of inquiry, a synopsis of your play, and a ten-page sample.
