Advancement

Donor Engagement Coordinator

Now Hiring: Northlight Theatre is now hiring a full-time Donor Engagement Coordinator.  Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Donor Engagement Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of fundraising events and donor stewardship events at Northlight. This position manages the Hospitality Partners Program and provides administrative and food/beverage support for all  Northlight events as needed.

A professional LORT D theatre located in  Skokie, Illinois, programming includes a 5-play mainstage season, the Interplay new play development series, and a dynamic year-round audience engagement and education program. Qualifications: Must have at least three years of development experience, including event planning and project management. Must be highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage timelines and multiple projects. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to  collaborate. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and a relational database required, Raiser’s Edge experience preferred. Self-motivated, able to prioritize and communicate well with staff. This position requires transportation to multiple job sites across the Chicagoland area. Though not required, a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license is recommended. 

Schedule & Job Location: This is a hybrid position with flexible hours including nights and  weekends needed for on- and off-site events. Administrative Office hours are between 10am-6pm  Monday through Friday. Onsite work takes place at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.  

Compensation: The compensation range is $40,000 to $43,000 annually, competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry, and commensurate with qualifications and experience of the applicant. This position is eligible for  benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid time off. Collaborative environment with close involvement with the art and artists.

MARKETING

Marketing Coordinator

Now Hiring: Northlight Theatre is now hiring a full-time Marketing Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of  Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Coordinator works toward expanding awareness of Northlight’s mainstage productions and auxiliary programs. This individual will participate in the formulation and  implementation of institutional and show-specific marketing plans, and will creatively seek new, innovative ways to engage current patrons, attract new patrons, and strengthen the Northlight brand. The Marketing  Coordinator is a member of the Northlight team and provides support as needed for all programs.

Qualifications: Minimum 1 year experience in managing social media strategies and campaign building for social platforms required. Fluency in Microsoft Office, Google tools (docs, Analytics), MailChimp (or similar),  and photo/video editing required. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Ad Grants, WordPress a plus. Must be an efficient multi-tasker comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, with a positive and professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills. Excellent writing skills, including confidence with copy editing and proofreading required. 

Schedule & Job Location: This position will work primarily onsite at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in  Skokie, with the potential for one remote day per week on Mondays. Exact onsite/remote work schedule will be determined based on department needs and staff member preference. Office Hours are generally Mon-Fri  9:30am-5:30pm (with exceptions for Opening Nights & select special events).

North Shore Center

The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, the facility in which Northlight is located, offers part-time positions in Box Office, Security, Operations, and Bartending. Visit their page for current opportunities.

Equity Principal Auditions for Northlight Theatre are scheduled annually through the Actors’ Equity Association. Specific scheduling and more information regarding our EPA auditions will be posted on the AEA website.

Each summer, Northlight Theatre offers high school students a paid opportunity to get first hand experience at working in a professional theater office environment. Students will work with staff and better understand the day-to-day and back-end operations. Northlight will also provide opportunities for the students to interview staff to gain knowledge of various components of the organization.

Please note that this is not a performance opportunity. Students might be able to observe some rehearsal and attend a performance, but the scope of this opportunity does not include any actual acting.

However, in an effort to support the local artistic community, we do accept unsolicited ten-page samples exclusively from writers living in Illinois. Before submitting material, we strongly encourage you to read our mission statement, research our production history, and/or see a production here in order to acquire a sense of Northlight’s interests and aesthetic.
