Grades PreK-12

This program offers long-term on-campus residencies custom-designed for each school. From the fundamentals of acting, to adaptation, to advanced theatre training, we will design a before-, during-, or after-school program to fit your needs.  Northlight’s goal is to increase a student’s participation in the arts by making theatre accessible while building creativity, reflection, confidence, and collaboration skills.

Pre-Residency

Planning meeting between classroom teacher, Northlight Education Manager, and Teaching Artist.

Residency

Sessions scheduled per residency can be customizable, ranging between 8-24 sessions.
Each residency is structured to give students skill-based learning in theatre and drama, moving into a process of making their own theatrical production (adapted or original). Residency culminates with an informal performance for peers, administrators, and students, capped off with reflection and celebration.

Optional Northlight On-site Visit

Attend a Northlight student matinee to give students access to a professional theatre experience, modeling the art they will be making in the classroom.

To find out more information or book a residency, please contact Abaigeal O’Donnell, Education Manager, at aodonnell@northlight.org or at 847.324.1607.
