Lock & Load!

by Northlight Theatre

from Nick Sandys, Fight Choreographer

Nick Sandys, the combat guy for Lieutenant here, and I am really looking forward to working on the ridiculous violence in the show and pulling off some of the effects (thank God, Steve Tolin is on board to manage all things gory!).  The combat is less demanding than the gun play, but still has to be hyper-realistic and should be cringe-inducing, as well as rib-tickling.  So we have already gathered the fire-power and are now rounding up air-rifles, hatchets, hacksaws, razors, bowie knives, and other assorted torture utensils—sounds like a SAW movie!

And this cast should be a (shotgun) blast to play with.  Keith Gallagher is an ex-student of mine at The Theatre School as well as a fellow cast-member of Remy Bumppo’s Real Thing;  Cliff Chamberlain and I have done shows together at the Goodman and Remy together;  I have choreographed Matt DeCaro twice at The Goodman;  and I have admired John Judd’s work for a very long time, at The Goodman and elsewhere (we have been Jeff-nominated together for the last two years—and neither has won!  What are they thinking!?).  Everyone else, if they are anywhere near as funny and outrageous as they were at first read-through this Monday, will be cat-batteringly good as well.  Here we go!  Lock & Load!  Or should that be Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Felines!?
