Backstage with BJ
Afternoon discussions with Northlight Artistic Director BJ Jones and visiting artists from upcoming productions feature a behind-the-scenes look at Northlight productions while they are in progress. This event is FREE for subscribers, but reservations are required. Dates for the 2008-09 Season are TBA.
BJ Jones 10th Anniversary Celebration
Friends, family and colleagues of BJ Jones gathered on Monday, June 30 to celebrate BJ’s 10th Anniversary as the Artistic Director of Northlight Theatre. Actor Harry J. Lennix served as Master of Ceremonies, with tributes from Richard Christiansen, former chief critic of the Chicago Tribune, and Paul Finnegan, former Northlight Board President. The evening was capped with a musical tribute to BJ, written by lyricist Cheri Coons and performed by Joe Dempsey, Jeff Parker, and Andrew Blendermann.
Northlight Gala
Northlight Theatre’s Annual Gala, Applause 2008: Feel the Heat, was held on March 1st at the Sunset Ridge Country Club. The evening’s highlights included actress Beth Broderick as Mistress of Ceremonies/auctioneer, entertainment from Ella star E. Faye Butler, and a surprise appearance by actress/comedian Nora Dunn of “Saturday Night Live” fame. Read more.
